The MQI/98.1 The One Soca Monarch (SM) is the jewel in the crown of the Crop Over Festival and is the most spectacular and highly anticipated event of the season. The competition will bring together some of the top artiste on  the island to compete for the title of  of 2019 Soca Monarch.  On Friday July 5th , 34 semifinalists will compete at Kensington Oval  for a spot in the finals. Fourteen(14) finalists will advance to compete against reigning 2018 Sweet Soca Monarch, Lil Rick and reigning Party Monarch, Mikey at a new,  picturesque  location -the National Botanical Gardens located in  Waterford St. Michael. The Finals of this event has also seen a new start time of 11:00 a.m. and will create a day time experience like no other event in Barbados.
