Background

To manage the day-to-day operations of the Plant and Equipment Department and the technical production of the Foundation’s events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise on all purchases, maintenance and repairs in respect of the Foundation’s technical equipment and vehicles;
  • Provide supervision of all technical areas, including sound, lighting, set design, stage management and electrical installation for the Foundation’s theatrical and entertainment productions;
  • Maintain and supervise all performance spaces of the Foundation;
  • Liaise with and supervise staff and contractors as required, in respect of work carried out by the Foundation;
  • Set up and maintain an appropriate inventory control system to safeguard the Foundation’s technical equipment;
  • Provide oral and written reports to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board on matters relating to the Plant and Equipment Department of the Foundation on a monthly basis;
  • Supervise members of staff of the Plant and Equipment Department;
  • Evaluate the performance of each member of the Plant and Equipment Department on an annual basis;
  • Review and refine job descriptions, workflows, systems and procedures within the Technical Department, to meet current and projected needs;
  • Recommend changes where deemed necessary to enhance productivity and profitability;
  • Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification from an approved institution in Theatre Management, Technical Theatre, Technical Production or some related discipline and have a sound knowledge of cultural/entertainment production management.
