Producing Musical competitions and events at the community and national level,
Facilitating concerts and providing musicians with opportunities to showcase their skills
Collaboration with the Ministry of Education towards the development of the Junior Calypso Monarch competition
Collaboration with community groups towards delivery of training and developmental activities
In conjunction with the Festival and Events Department, coordinating musical components of national festivals
Producing the annual NIFCA Music competition
Coordination of musical events for festivals such as CARIFESTA

The responsibilities of the Desk include:
Organising and conducting training courses, community outreach programmes, seminars and workshops in the field of Music for individuals, community groups and school based students
Producing Musical competitions and events at the community and national level,
Facilitating concerts and providing musicians with opportunities to showcase their skills
Plan and administer arrangements and activities for rehearsals, concerts, and musical productions of Barbados National Youth Orchestra, including facility and equipment rental, staging requirements, and other logistical needs.
Liaise with secondary school principals, music teachers and any relevant community organization regarding the introduction of maintenance of music courses, workshops and programs.
Liaise with Business Development Department in coordinating commercial events for the Barbados National Youth Orchestra.
Maintain electronic records of members of the Orchestra and participants in all NCF-organized music developmental programs.
Develop appropriate syllabus for all NCF-organized music courses, workshops and programs.
