Barbados’ Junior Calypso Monarch to Perform at the Finals of the Trinidad Junior Monarch Competition

Aisha “Mandisa” Butcher, the 2012 Junior Calypso Monarch in the 13 to 18 category will make a guest appearance on stage in the Finals of the Trinidad Junior Monarch competition on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10 a.m.

The competition which comes off at the Queen’s Park Savannah in the city’s capital of Port of Spain will see Mandisa performing her winning song My Advice.

While in Trinidad, Mandisa will also be looking to increase her knowledge to progress further and develop herself in performances.

Mandisa first entered the calypso arena in 2011 when she placed second in the Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch competition. She currently attends the Barbados Community College where she is enrolled in the Associate Degree Music programme.

Mandisa’s appearance in Trinidad is part of the annual reciprocal agreement between the National Cultural Foundation and the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation which produces the Trinidad Junior Monarch.
