Barbados National Youth Steel Orchestra Auditions

If the steel pan that you are currently playing on is of a different chart (specifically a pan too large to transport) to that which is provided at the National Orchestra, you will be given the opportunity to submit a video which follows the same requirements listed below.

Below are the requirements for each instrument.

Tenor Pan (High or Low C)

• C major Scale
• C Chromatic Scale
• 1 Scale of your choice
• Tempo: 155 crotchet beats per minute Value: Quavers
• Piece: Verse & Chorus with use of melody with the use of harmonies/chords

Double Tenor

• C major Scale
• C Chromatic Scale
• 1 Scale of your choice
• Tempo: 155 crotchet beats per minute Value: Quavers
• Piece: Verse & Chorus with use of melody with the use of harmonies/chords

Double 2nd

• C major Scale
• C Chromatic Scale
• 1 Scale of your choice
• Tempo: 155 crotchet beats per minute Value: Quavers
• Piece: Verse & Chorus with use of melody with the use of harmonies/chords

Double Guitar

• C major Scale
• C Chromatic Scale
• 1 Scale of your choice
