Youth Volunteer Programme

CODE OF CONDUCT 


The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) expects all youth volunteers to comply with management and to conform to THE NCF’s rules at all times.  If these rules are disregarded or the Youth Volunteer behaves wrongly in some other way, THE NCF may discipline the Youth Volunteer.


Disciplinary action can consist of a formal oral warning, written warning, a final written warning, and dismissal or, in the case of gross misconduct, summary dismissal from the programme.


Rules

1.   Youth Volunteer should comply with the terms of their assignment.

2.   Youth Volunteer should satisfactorily perform the instructions given for carrying out the function of their assignment.

3.   Youth Volunteer should satisfactorily perform any reasonable request relating to their function by an authorised staff member or Youth Volunteer Team Leader.

4.   The Youth Volunteer should report to the Volunteer Coordinator.  Their inability to perform an assignment due to their absence.

5.   The following behaviours will not be permitted – this applies both during working hours and outside of the work environment while wearing the uniform (T-Shirt).

·         Discriminatory behaviour, language, or non-verbal language.

·         Harassment of individuals, whether sexual or otherwise.

·         Bullying of individuals in any form.

·         Behaviour or actions that would in any way jeopardise the safety or well-being of other Youth Volunteers.

·         Threatening, aggressive, or violent behaviour or language is prohibited and may lead to dismissal.

6.   The drinking of alcohol, smoking, or the taking of illegal drugs while representing THE NCF and while wearing the uniform (T-Shirt) is not permitted.

7.   Youth Volunteer will not engage in inappropriate sexually explicit conversation or activity while representing the NCF.

8.   Youth Volunteer will treat guests and clients with respect at all times.

9.   Youth Volunteer will wear uniform (T-shirt) with a standard long black or blue jeans pants or slacks and comfortable shoes. It is suggested not to wear excessive makeup or jewellery. 

10.  Youth Volunteer will only wear uniform (T-Shirt) when scheduled to work.

11. Any person who wears uniform (T-Shirt) to gain entry to an event which he/she hasn’t been assigned to perform Youth Volunteer functions or isn’t a current registered Youth Volunteer, may be subject to legal action taken against them.


National Cultural Foundation Obligation to Youth Volunteers

1.    The NCF will supply volunteers with the relevant uniform (T-Shirt).
2.    The NCF shall supply meals to Youth Volunteer at selected events.
3.    Beverages shall be provided at all events.
4.    The NCF shall provide transportation for Youth Volunteers at selected events.
5.    Complimentary tickets/ Stipends will be distributed at the discretion of the NCF.
