What should I…?

todayJanuary 17, 2022 192 5

What should I do
when the world rages at me?
What should I feel
when my screams are swallowed by the void?
What should I do
when I have nothing but a thousand yard stare
and words trapped in my mind,
and walls locked in my throat?
What should I do
when the world says:
No
to me protecting myself
to me shedding a tear
to me screaming in anger
to me being human?
What should I feel
when the world rages at me?
What should I say
when the sound of boots and gunshots are my lullabies?
What should I cry
when my words are noiseless
and blood stains sea island
and nothing I do seems to change that?
What should I hope
for when my name becomes meaningless
and my body is the stain being erased
because somebody couldn’t be bothered
to remember that I’m human too.

So, what should I feel
but nothing other than despair
other than saddening frustration
other than fear of the world
that constantly, unceasingly
rages at me?
