todayJanuary 16, 2022 268

So-shall Dis-stance Mek I-so-late. You-so-late.
We so late
To shut down. Lock down.
Stop from round At people house.
We so late
To be home bound.
We so late
To plant de ground.
To be concerned
Food supplies gine go down. Dis state we in
Could last real long.
Too much suspicion. Overload of mis- information. Unanswered questions Got de people
In derision. Some call it in- decision.
Merchants’ pockets Lined
As the populace Panic buys.
Layoffs on their Minds
As poverty Intensifies.
Hard ears
Won’t hear.
But not just you – All uh we
Gine feel.

Cause you so late To appreciate
Dis virus is
A heavy weight.
Ports are
Open gates. Collective action Settles our fate. Masses irritate- ed.
While
Politicians dictate. Preachers prostrate. Economies obliterate- ed.
And we –
We procrastinate. Procrastinate and panic. Panic and hesitate. Hesitate and wait
For the manic minds
Of moronic mammals
To manoeuvre through Moments of magnificent Uncertainty.
So shall Mediocrity
Be de end uh we If we doan
Tek dis seriously.
It ain’ bout segregation. Is a demonstration
Of how much
We love we nation.
Love we neighbour. Love we selves.
So-shall Dis-stance
Be we salvation.
