NATIONAL CULTURAL FOUNDATION

Cultural Officer – Literary Arts

Responsibilities and/or duties will include:

  • To formulate, implement and manage cultural programmes in the discipline of Literary Arts;
  • To organize, facilitate and/or conduct training seminars and workshops in the discipline of Literary Arts;
  • To work with national, cultural, community, schools and other organizations in the development and implementation of cultural programmes in the discipline of Literary Arts;
  • To undertake, conceptualise, plan and coordinate activities related to community, national and regional festivals in the discipline of Literary Arts;
  • To identify and foster harmonious working relationships with national and community based practitioners in Literary Arts training, development and expression;
  • To identify opportunities for local, regional and international exposure of Barbadian Literary Arts talent;
  • To do anything desirable to foster the development of culture and Literary Arts in Barbados.
  • Experience in the administration of Literary Arts competitions would be an asset.

Qualifications: A University Degree in English Literature or related discipline from an approved institution;

                                    OR
A Diploma or equivalent qualification from an approved institution and a minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in Literary Arts environment.

Remuneration:         
Salary and benefits package commensurate with established NCF policy.
