If the energy and vibes of the recent in studio launch is any indication, title sponsor of the Mega Cavalcade HOTT 95.3 and the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) are definitely ready to Up Di Ting at Checker Hall, St. Lucy this Friday, May 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

Some of the Mega Cavalcade entertainers on the cards who visited Crop Over City at HOTT, kept the studio hyped with just a taste of a

performance in a cappella from new artiste Nadia ‘Aidan’ Holmes; promises of a ‘gargantuan show’ from artistes like Scrilla, Stabby & Marzville; and an entire spiel in sermon style from the L&S crew to prep the listeners for a pure party atmosphere in the north.

The Foundation’s decision to take the HOTT 95.3 Mega Cavalcade to the north is a part of its efforts to decentralise some of its events, taking the spirit and soul of the Festival back into the rural communities.

In addition to the artistes mentioned, the HOTT 95.3 Mega Cavalcade is also expected to feature performances from Harpa, Makka Tree and JDP all backed by the BCC Caribbean Ensemble in the new artistes segment; Coopa Dan, Hardware & Jah Reddis in Up Di Ting; and heating up the Boiling Pot segment with the L & S band is Joaquin, Nikita, Hypasounds, Marvay, and the Monarchs Edwin Yearwood and Lil Rick.

This mega stage show not only acts as the unofficial start to the Crop Over Festival, but it is a launching pad for the music of the season, a developmental opportunity and an introduction for new artistes to showcase their talent.

To start the evening, the audience will be treated to an exuberant presentation from the Daryll Jordan Secondary Steel Orchestra; a spectacular performance from Dancin’ Africa; and at intervals throughout the night it will be full party mode, with popular deejay personalities from the sponsor station HOTT 95.3.

HOTT 95.3 FM entered the Cavalcade arena in 2011 and has been supporting the event ever since.

For the 3rd year in succession the technical service providers have been joining with the NCF by donating their services to the event as their contribution, giving back to the Festival by offering their services free of charge.

As part of a 3-year partnership between the NCF and the HIV/AIDS Commission, the Foundation has been supporting the efforts for HIV prevention by providing space at major mass event venues like the HOTT 95.3 Mega Cavalcade affording them the opportunity to touch more lives.  On Friday night, a team will be on hand to facilitate onsite testing.

The NCF promises that Friday night’s line up for the show will certainly Up Di Ting, bringing the fever of the Festival and people from all walks of life to the north.
