The Event at a Glance –
The Crop Over 2015 Evening of Folk, entitled “Sounds of Rebellion: Echoes of Change!”, will be a dramatic musical journey exploring and celebrating pivotal characters and moments in Barbadian history through the sounds and songs of resistance which led to the echoes of change that remain the lasting legacy of Barbadian revolutions, large and small.
The production team for this event will include:
– Alison Sealy-Smith (Director/Dramaturge)
– John Hunte (Choreographer/Associate Director)
– Amanda Cumberbatch (Writer)
– Stefan Walcott (Musical Director/Composer)
– Ronald Davis (Producer/Composer)
The show will take place at the Frank Collymore Hall on Friday, July 24th, with rehearsals and workshops beginning from April 20th.
We Are Looking to Fill the Following Roles –
Young Man (Lead)
20’s to early 30’s. Must be a highly-skilled actor capable of playing multiple roles. Ability to sing and move would be an asset.
Old Doll (Lead)
40’s to 60’s. Must be a highly-skilled actress. Ability to sing and move would be an asset.
Ensemble
2 female singers, 1 male singer. Ability to act and move would be an asset.
2 female dancers, 2 male dancers. Ability to act and carry a tune would be an asset.
The Audition 411 –
Please prepare a 2 minute contemporary monologue, a song of your choice and, be prepared for a little improvisation!
Auditions take place Tuesday April 7th and Thursday April 9th between 5:00pm and 7:00pm at the NCF, West Terrace, St. James.
