The Roberts NIFCA Culinary Arts in association with Caribbean Cuizine has been revamped for 2014 bringing with it a number of innovative ideas. These new elements are being implemented, highlighting the skills of the entrants and the great tastes of their dishes, with an interactive experience for all involved.
The major features of the new & improved Culinary Arts discipline are:
1. The Best Bajan Cook Competition – this new element gives non-professional cooks the opportunity to prepare their dishes on site. Judged in stages, the final will be held as part of the Culinary Arena, allowing the general public to see contestants crafting their wonderful dishes. And, all entrants will get to participate in workshops beforehand so that they can hone their skills in preparation and presentation. The registration deadline for this aspect of the competition is October 3, 2014
2. The Culinary Arena & Expo – The Arena will showcase the Best Bajan Cook Competition as well as the Professional Cook-Off – where the professional chefs prepare something spectacular from Mystery Baskets; complemented by the Mixology competition and demonstrations by the Caribbean and Barbadian Junior Duelling Chefs. The expo will showcase much more in NIFCA, Culinary Arts and of course, NIFCA Culinary Arts.
Moving this year to the Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, the Culinary Arena & Expo will take place over 2 days ( Nov.14 & 15), so mark it on your calendars and come on out.
