We are pleased to announce the inaugural presentation in our 2018 Stage Reading Series.
This three(3) part series intends to create a platform for emerging work, as well as to present familiar and/or classic Caribbean plays to the public. During the series, we hope to invite the participation of the wider community of artists, so that other performers may enjoy a taste of theatre life.

Luci Hammans’ new play “Who Diablesse” will play on September 9th, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the historic Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre.

SYNOPSIS
Christa-Leah, a young Caribbean girl, discovers that she is the latest incarnation of the legendary La Diablesse, the haunting beauty who drives wayward men to distraction, and yet has one good foot and one cow foot. With the help of Edna, Simone, and Natalie she explores the range of her newfound female powers, and has the opportunity to confront the evils of gender based violence in her school. But Christa-Leah struggles: is this power a blessing or a curse?
Please feel free to join in a brief question and answer session after the play.
