Provide business counselling, advisory services, development pathways to market and provide data analysis and recommendations toward the growth of the Creative Economy of Barbados, with special attention to the Film and Music sectors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a portfolio of programmes and projects related to the Creative Industries or as determined by the Senior Business Development Officer and in keeping with the objectives of the National Cultural Foundation;
Conduct detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and implement solutions for export clients in the Film and Music sectors;
Use analysis, modeling and visualisation of industry trends to inform and implement policy as it relates to the competitive landscape in order to grow the creative sector in Barbados;
Analyse commercial data such as budgets, sales results and forecasts to ensure a competitive advantage for the creative sector;
Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data, to further the competitiveness of creative industry from Barbados;
Formulate, implement, measure and evaluate programmes for promoting and assisting high potential enterprises in Film and Music, and the expansion of existing businesses;
Provide critical analysis of requests for technical and or any other business support service provided by the NCF;
Critically assess assigned sectors of Film and Music and other portfolios and determine strategic interventions and sustainable solutions, which could lead to increased export of Barbadian Film and Music products and services;
Identify and promote possibilities for joint ventures and linkages across the Creative Industries;
Monitor government regulations and administrative procedures affecting the business sector in Barbados and offer recommendations that could be beneficial for institutions consideration;
Assess applications for Grant Funding;
Prepare relevant grant applications reports;
Represent the Foundation in presentations on the Creative Economy of Barbados;
Provide timely monthly reports or as required relative to work undertaken;
Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time;
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
Excellent presentation skills;
Knowledgeable in the areas of distribution and production pipelines of Film and Music;
Knowledgeable in all phases of the project management life cycle;
Wide knowledge of Barbadian Cultural & Creative Industries;
Knowledge of Global Creative Economy and global policy initiatives;
Understanding International Trade Policy as it relates to the Cultural/Creative Industries;
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management or related discipline, along with 3 years’ experience in the fields of Film and Music.
At least three (3) years of relevant post first degree experience in Business Analysis or any of the above stated fields.
