Subject: NCF hosting final Writers’ Clinic Saturday
The National Cultural Foundation’s final Writers’ Clinic for the 2021/2022
season will be held on Saturday.
The highly interactive literary session themed: Poetry for Beginners, hosted by Zoom Link, starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
Poetry for Beginners is the 11th instalment of the series, which was
launched in September 2021. These monthly clinics have benefitted
literature lovers ranging from all ages.
Saturday’s virtual session will be led by talented and award-winning author
Linda M. Deane. The literary powerhouse is well-respected and recognised
by all generations, as Deane’s portfolio caters to a variety of ages.
The convivial session will include captivating exercises that will allow
participants to showcase their talents and gather insightful feedback,
assisting them with shaping their craft.
The Writers’ Clinic also provides a platform and opportunities to network for
individuals who have a passion and interest in literary arts.
Literary Officer Karra Price, who is coordinating, explained that “the clinics
are more than a tutorial, but rather a community. Persons of all ages and
levels are encouraged to return monthly to help build the new society of
Barbadian writers. By joining the community, you have access to reminders
and updates surrounding the Writer’s Clinic.”
The coordinator said she is elated with the way this season has gone thus
far, following its return from a brief hiatus. She hinted that the clinic will
return “bigger and better” for the 2022-2023 season.
“Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, the NCF successfully
continued its outreach through the Writers Clinic series. This season was
met with an overwhelming response from the community, and we are
looking forward to a new and exciting line-up which begins in September
2022.”
