Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre

The Queen’s House, one of the listed buildings in the World Heritage Property of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison, is home to the Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre and the Queen’s Park Gallery.

The Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre is located in the upper portion of Queen’s Park House and is named after a teacher and theatre stalwart who contributed hugely to the growth and maturation of drama in both Barbados and the Caribbean. After being closed for 12 years, this historic theatre was completely refurbished and re-opened in 2017. The theatre seats 208, has a 27’ x 37’ stage and comes fully equipped with sound and lighting systems and operators. The venue is wheelchair accessible with an elevator and fully air conditioned throughout with two well equipped dressing rooms and a green room.

A built-in ticket booth, bar area with freezers accompanies this venue which can be utilized for lectures, film screenings, workshops, conferences as well as small recitals and performances. There is ample parking and security on site.
