SIGN UP NOW FOR THE NCF’S INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE IN TRADITIONAL BASKETRY 

The National Cultural Foundation invites basket makers and weavers to sign up for an International Masterclass in the Basketry of Barbados and the Carolinas!

Featuring master artisans Gail Wright, from the Gullah Sweetgrass tradition of South Carolina, and our very own Ireka Jelani of Barbados.  

– Learn the traditions of harvesting, preparing and weaving easily available materials 

– Explore the African traditions that are continued in the Diaspora

– Experiment with dying fibres using local natural dye sources

– Innovate by combining old and new techniques 

– Have your new products featured by the NCF in an online catalogue!
