The National Cultural Foundation is hosting its final Writers’ Clinic for the 2021/2022 season. The highly interactive session themed “Poetry for Beginners” will take place on Saturday, July 9th from 11AM-1PM, via ZOOM.
Poetry for Beginners is the 11th instalment of the series, which was initially launched in September 2021. These monthly clinics have seen wonderful turnouts by literature lovers stemming from all ages. This month’s virtual session will be led by talented, award-winning author Linda M. Deane. The literary powerhouse is well respected and recognized by persons of all generations, as Deane’s portfolio caters to a variety of ages. The convivial session will include captivating exercises which will allow participants to showcase their talents and gather insightful feedback, assisting them with shaping their craft.
The Writers’ Clinic also provides a platform and networking opportunities for individuals who have a passion and interest in literary arts. The clinics are said to be more than a tutorial, but rather a community. Persons of all ages and levels are encouraged to return monthly to help build the new society of Barbadian writers. By joining the community you have access to reminders and updates surrounding the Writer’s Clinic.
Special mention must be given to Coordinator of the Writers’ Clinic, the NCF’s Literary Arts Officer, Karra Price. She is elated with the way this season has gone thus far, following its return from a brief hiatus. She hints that the clinic will return “Bigger and better” for the 2022-2023 season
Persons interested in being a part of the Writer’s Clinic can email karra-price@ncf.bb or call
