The series, Chill With Teff, looks at the creation and sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and by extension, the revolution that provides digital assets for those in the arts.

An NFT is a digital certificate that is one of a kind. It can be associated with reproducible digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. Work created through any digital medium, or even traditional mediums, can become an NFT.

NFTs make it easy for creatives to own and sell digital content. However, ownership of an NFT does not grant copyright or intellectual property rights of the digital asset linked to token.

The NCF felt it was important to produce the series which seeks to inform viewers about NFTs and help creatives see the value in them.

The new series, which is hosted by Nicholas ‘Teff’ Hinkson a Bajan  hip hop artiste, producer and songwriter, is a four-episode series.

The first episode, which aired on Wednesday, January 5, on NCF social media channels featured internationally-acclaimed local artiste Shontelle. Those interested in viewing that episode can log on the NCF Barbados on YouTube.

Upcoming episodes will feature recording artiste and producer Haleek Maul, interior designer, virtual 3D designer, photographer Zoe Osbourne and recording artiste Oliver Gale.

Both Haleek Maul and Shontelle Layne are recognised Barbadian creatives who have sold NFTs at the early stage of this wave internationally.

Log on to NCF Barbados on YouTube and Facebook, on Wednesday, January 19, at 6 p.m. for the next episode. Upcoming episodes will be broadcast on February 2 and 16 at 8 p.m. (PR)
