Thirty-six years ago Barbados experienced a renaissance of national cultural expression as a result of hosting the Caribbean Festival of Arts, commonly known as CARIFESTA. Artists and Creatives across the island were inspired to look inward at their own ways of creating works of art.
In August 2017, Barbados will once again play host to this regional festival – CARIFESTA XIII and so the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) will be conducting a special research project for people who participated in, organised, worked at or witnessed any events of CARIFESTA 1981.
Add your voice to Barbados’ cultural history, by sharing your memories with the NCF’s CARIFESTA ’81 Oral History Project team from June 1st to July 31st, 2017.
For more information, please contact the NCF’s Research Officer, Michelle Springer by telephone at 417-6628 or via email at michelle-springer@ncf.bb.
